This program is between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), to provide this engineering training much sought after by industries. The joint MTD program is a synergy of two excellent universities recognized worldwide and is modeled after the prestigious MTD degree program (now known as Professional Doctorate in Engineering) awarded since 1988 by TU/e. The qualities that the students develop by taking on an in-depth, industry-based experience lead to a new definition of the engineer, well prepared to confront the global challenges of modern industry. This program aims to bring in top calibre candidates from around the world with strong potential and vision to be leaders in product design and development, bringing value-add to the industry and pioneering new products and knowledge. The program has attracted highly talented students from Europe and Asia, some with existing postgraduate qualifications and substantial industrial experience.

Students should have obtained a good bachelor's degree with honors in engineering/science or its equivalent. They should also have the relevant working experience.
